Thanks for inviting Ghaida and Hassan. I love their clarity of purpose and integrity. Their point on unity is so important - we need to be united by a common purpose and values, regardless of the identity bullshit that I am sure has been intentionally inserted by the empire. In the discipline of strategy, “Focus Wins” - united in Focus and desired outcomes for a positive change.
I agree that the target resistance strategy is the dismantling of the empire, the immediate priorities are Palestine, Sudan, etc The two actions do not have to be mutually exclusive. We need to be clear about what success looks like to maintain unity and focus, making it easier for implementation.
The keffiyeh provides a beautiful map of success. The Anishinabek on the east side of Turtle Island share the dream catcher. Square or circle framed, our unity recognizes life affirming nuance. Can we focus on the subtleties? Subtle ties? Can we hold space for the broad sieves of keffiyeh dream catchers?
Of course, focus on the subtle ties :) However, if we want to dismantle the empire, we must have a clear idea of what that entails and how the resulting vacuum should be filled or how the new world will operate. It may be subtle ties among all nations; if so, are we communicating them with a common voice? There is a risk that we focus solely on the problem and forget about the desired outcome, only to find that an equally horrible group of elites replaces the empire.
